When is this year’s Dress To Remember Event?
Our Dress to Remember Event will take place on April 28th & 29th 2012 in Carson, CA.

What does a volunteer do at this event?
These are just some of the tasks we need help with:
- Set-up/Breakdown (set-up will take place a day before the event)
- Personal Shoppers
- Snack Organizers
- Check In
- Dress Alterations/Seamstress
- Measurement
- Workshop
- Greeter
- Registration

How do I apply to be a volunteer?
If you are interested in volunteering for the Dress to Remember event, you MUST fill out our online application. Applications must be completed entirely with accurate information and will be accepted on a first come first serve basis as space is limited.

When is the deadline for applications?
Applications are due NO LATER THAN APRIL 14, 2012 for the April 2012 Dress to Remember Event.

Can anyone apply to be a volunteer at this event?
To apply to volunteer at the event you must fit the following criteria:

- MUST be of 18 years of age or older. Because our event works with minors, we have to take the necessary steps to protect their safety and privacy, and unfortunately don’t allow persons under 18 to our Dress to Remember Event.
- MUST pre-register and fill out application in its entirety
- MUST show proof of ID 
- MUST sign Medical Release Waiver

I am a member of an organization and would like to bring our group to your event. Is this possible and how do we sign up?
We welcome groups and organizations as long as they fit in the above category. If you wish to sign up your organization for the event, please email our volunteer coordinators at lapcvolunteer@gmail.com.

I am under 18 but would like to help. How can I do that?
We welcome those who are under 18 to our other fundraising and Dress Sorting events throughout the year. Please email lapcvolunteer@gmail.com for a list of events.


I can’t make it to the Dress to Remember Event. Are there other volunteer opportunities I can be a part of?
In addition to our “Dress to Remember” Event in the Spring, LAPC also has numerous volunteer opportunities throughout the year, including Dress Sorting Events in the winter and other fundraising events that help us prepare for our main event. We welcome volunteers, including those who under 18 in these events. Please email lapcvolunteer@gmail.com for a list of events.


I have business contacts and would like to help obtain donations for the event
We always welcome donations, and any and all help to make the day run as seamless as possible. Please contact us at lapcvolunteer@gmail.com

I run a business and would like to donate my services to your event/organization.
Thank you! We would love to work with you. The following services would be great:
- Dry Cleaning
- Dress Accessories: Hangers, z-racks, clear plastic dry cleaning bags, clothing tags, dressing rooms
- Jewelry: new earrings, bracelets, necklaces, rings
- Gift bags: Paper or plastic gift bags, tissue for bags
- Clerical needs: Pens, Paper, Scissors
- Delivery assistance: Delivery Truck
- Food and beverages for the volunteers the day of the event: breakfast, snacks, lunch


I understand there are workshops that the teens participate in. What sort of workshops do you have?  Can I hold a workshop?
Yes, we offer workshops in addition to “shopping” for a dress.  The workshops we’ve had the past couple of years are listed below.  If you’d like to participate and conduct a workshop yourself please email us at lapcvolunteer@gmail.com and write “WORKSHOP” in the subject line.  If you have a different workshop idea, please let us know!

- Hair styling workshop
- Motivational speaker for career building
- Self-esteem speaker
- Etiquette workshop
- Dream building workshop

I’d like to organize my own dress drive and fundraiser to help LA’s Prom Closet.  How do I go about that?
Before setting anything up, please email us at lapcvolunteer@gmail.com.
You should then recruit volunteers to assist you with the drive, set up a date and location such as a church, house or work venue, and promote the event.  Flyers, letters and invitations are perfect to help spread the word. We will also send you a Donation Form for the donors to fill out.  In return, they will receive a tax receipt from us.  Once your event is over and you have accrued dresses and/or monetary donations, we will schedule a time to meet.
